Wedding Hairstyle Ideas for Brides, Bridesmaids, and Guests
Whether you’re the bride or working your way through a stack of RSVPs, it’s clear that wedding season has officially arrived—and the best wedding hairstyle ideas are, naturally, top of mind. While the idea of bridal hairstyles might conjure up memories of complicated updos and perfectly curled tendrils, that’s no longer the case, with newer styles trending more casual, effortless, and generally romantic. That goes for bridesmaids and guests, too, whether for the mother of the bride or an old college friend. With this in mind, Lp stylist (and wedding hairstylist extraordinaire) Molly Leahy is sharing two options for the big day. Here’s how to get the look for yourself — and what you’ll need on hand to pull it off.
Romantic Twisted Half-Up Style
Step 1: Section, spray + curl.
Section off dry hair, then apply Flex Hairspray to each section for both flexible hold and heat protection up to 410°F/210°C. Depending on the thickness of your hair, use a 1-1.5” curling iron, working vertically through each section and twirling the iron away from your face. Let the sections cool, then run your fingers through the curls to create a soft, romantic look.
Step 2: Twist with Full Dry Volume & Texture Spray.
Not only does Full Dry Volume & Texture Spray offer volume, but it can create grip for longer wear, too. Take 1-2″ section of hair near your part, twist it away from your face, and spray with Full Dry Volume & Texture Spray. Gently tug on the edges to “fluff,” then secure the section in the back of your head with a bobby pin.
Step 3: Twist + repeat.
Repeat with remaining sections, with two on each side, securing them around the same place in the back of your head. Once you’re done, use the ends of the twisted sections to cover the bobby pins
Step 4: Fend off frizz.
Spray No Frizz Instant De-Frizzer all over hair for added shine and sleekness. Don’t forget to shake it before every single spray as you work through hair.
Easy Twisted Bun
Step 1: Section + split.
Section off the front 1-2″ of dry hair along the hairline so that it frames the face, dividing it into two even sections with a center part. Pull the remainder of your hair into a low ponytail, then divide the ponytail into two sections.
Step 2: Twist + tuck.
Twist one half of the ponytail, spritz the lengths with Full Dry Volume & Texture Spray, and gently tug it with fingers to “fluff.” Then, loosely wrap it around the base of the ponytail, securing the end with bobby pins.
Step 3: Rewind and repeat.
Repeat Step 2 with the second half of the ponytail to create a low, textured bun.
Step 4: Finish off with the front.
Leaving a few strands to frame the face, spritz one of the front sections of hair with Flex Hairspray to add touchable hold. Pull it back and wrap it around the bun, securing it with a bobby pin. Repeat with the other section of hair.
