We have had a lot of questions about what products to use with No Frizz and are there some you should avoid. Good question.
In general, No Frizz can be used on combination with any product you typically put into your routine. That includes your normal shampoo, conditioner or other stylers. The only issue that we’ve heard from customers thus far is mixing No Frizz with a silicone serum and it “curdling.” No fun. So we’d avoid mixing those serums with No Frizz.
We recommend that if you’re going to use No Frizz with other products, apply the No Frizz first, right after the shower on damp hair to be sure it’s providing a good coating on the hair. Then apply other products. The only exception to this rule is with leave-in conditioners. It’s usually best to apply your leave-in as directed first and then follow with your No Frizz.
Most importantly, please tell us what else you need to make your hair perfect! Since you all love No Frizz so much, we’d love to be sure you have a complete solution from Living Proof. Let me know.

Hi Wendi, all our products are available right here at LivingProof.com! You can also find our products at Sephora (www.sephora.com) and QVC (www.qvc.com)!
Where can i get the new no frizz product.
Great question, Brittany, and thanks so much for your inquiry! Because your hair is so thick, our Straight Making Treatment for Thick to Coarse Hair would be best for you – it has the strongest conditioning components in the system, so will help to provide a little extra smoothness to your style. PolyfluoroEster also works to bring out your color for that truly rich shine. Feel free to give our customer service folks a call, if you’d like a sample – just be sure that you use enough product to completely saturate your hair from root to tip. This works very differently from your Aveda product, so it will feel counter-intuitive to use so much your first time applying. Our team can be reached at 866-240-9933 anytime between 8am and 6pm EST, Monday – Friday. Be sure to report back!
Rob,
I use Aveda Light Elements Smoothing fluid before I blow dry my hair and after, and sadly it does contain silicon. I need the “weighing down” and added shine that the aveda provides which makes me kind of reluctant to give it up. Do you have any suggestions as far as a product substitute?
Hi Jennifer- Thanks for writing in. It sounds like you might benefit from the No Frizz Cream or Treatment and adding a Leave-in into your routine for extra hydration. Feel free to call us to discuss why this may be or if you need a recommendation for a Leave-in. Also, just to be clear a silicone serum is a type of product. It’s okay to use products with silicone in them – but you should avoid the serums which are usually clear, oily substances used to add shine or control frizz.
I started using No Frizz some months ago, and at first was delighted with the results. Now it seems that when I use it my hair feels very dry without the soft shine it had in the beginning. Not sure why the results have changed so much. Also how can I know which products contain a silicone serum? Will it be listed as such on the product ingrediants? Thanks.
Hi Janis,
Great question. While we don’t advocate mixing No Frizz with silicone serums due to incompatibility (it clumps) – you can absolutely still use silicone serums on days you don’t style your hair with No Frizz.
If I use No Frizz, would I be unable to EVER use silicone serum again? I like the stuff sometimes; my hair NEEDS to be weighed down, and I can use a ton before it looks greasy or limp.
But you guys talk about No Frizz remaining in the hair for some time after use, and I’m worried that if I start using it, I’ll never be able to use silicone serum again.
Johnna, great question! You can use the straight spray after blow drying before you flat iron. It works great if you spritz on dry sections before running the iron through. And, the wave spray is perfect to tame fly aways because it has a slight hold to it.
Can we use those “no frizz” sprays after we are done blow drying and straigtening to tame any fly aways. Or do they not mix together. I’m using the medium to thick creme. Better yet, can I use my straight iron protector spray or does Living Proof protect your hair from ironing too.
Thanks
Johnna
Stacie, look for gallon sizes for holiday 2009
The two products for thick to coarse hair will be available when we launch nationally in late January, early February.
You’ll be the first to know the moment you can buy them. Promise.

Rob-
You’re such a smart guy! I experimented over the weekend since I didn’t see an answer to my question about mixing products. I used the No Frizz first then a tiny drop of oil rubbed between my hands and over my hair. It dried just the way I wanted it to, and no dry looking spots!
Yippee! Is there anyway possible to get gallon-sized containers of this stuff?
or quarts…..
Also, where’s the coarse hair product? Can’t find it anywhere
