Back in March of 2009, we received this e-mail after David’s wife e-mailed Rob about No Frizz’s availability in the UK:

Hi Rob

Thanks for the quick reply (the husband here).  Can you let me know when next year you plan to ship to Scotland, my life has not been worth living since my wife found out about this product.  My computer has been hijacked to internet search places that can ship to the UK (not looking good), leaving me with eBay withdrawal symptoms and being forced to take over washing the dishes and the vacuum cleaning duties.  Not good I can tell you!

I need this product even more than my wife does.  I need my old life back.  I really enjoyed it.  Ah, she’s wondering why the vacuum cleaner has stopped…need to go!

A year later…

Hope you are well and had a good New Year and Christmas break.   Have you any news on supplying No Frizz in the UK?

As a Christmas treat to my wife, I bought a bottle of the Treatment for Thick to Coarse hair from EBay US (I know, it cost me a fortune) but I didn’t think my internet connection could stand much more of the constant searching for this product in the UK.  It’s that bad that the print on letters ‘N’, ‘O’, ‘F’, ‘R’, ‘I’ and ‘Z’ have all but vanished from my keyboard.  I didn’t think that was possible!!

She was delighted when she opened the lovingly wrapped present and absolutely loves the product.  I thought I had done the right thing but, no no! Just when I thought I was doing something nice…it backfired.  Now she realizes that this bottle will not last forever and is even more desperate to get more No Frizz! I just can’t win!

Here’s hoping that David had his “old life back!”

For our other fans in the UK, what do you think of No Frizz?

You will need these tools: A hair dryer with nozzle, a round brush, some Living Proof No Frizz Straight Styling Cream.

1. Make sure bangs are damp to wet and apply a dab of Living Proof’s No Frizz Straight Making Cream from roots to ends.
2. Place brush where your hair meets your forehead and wrap your bangs around brush so it goes underneath the brush.
3. Using a hair dryer with nozzle on high heat, blow-dry your bangs angling the air flow straight down above the bangs.
4. Dry from roots to ends while holding the brush horizontally, pulling away from the face and then towards the nose.
5. Then, with the brush held vertically, blow-dry the bangs as you pull the brush down and towards the side for a relaxed side-swept bangs look (think Reese Witherspoon) .

If your side bangs don’t quite reach behind your ear, run a comb through your bangs and spritz the end of your bangs to meet with your hair by your ear to avoid a piece-y look.  Tip: If you don’t already have a travel size hair spray try Living Proof Hold Flexible Hairspray in our 1.8 oz travel size!

If you know you’re going to be photographed, spritz some hairspray on your fringe prior to shooting. This should give your hair an added shine and also help hold them in place and from falling in your eyes.

• Step 1.
  Start with clean, damp towel-dried hair. It’s best to blot the water out of your hair since your hair is it’s most fragile when wet.

• Step 2.
  If you have long hair start with a small dollop of No Frizz Wave/Curl Styler for medium-to-thick hair and rub the product between your hands. Spread the product through your hair on one side starting at the roots and working it down the hair shaft making sure it’s evenly distributed. If you prefer, you can also use a wide tooth comb to work the product evenly through your hair.

• Step 3.
  Dispense more product, rub it between your hands again and spread it through the other side of your hair, starting at the roots. Continue this process until all of your hair is fully coated. Don’t be afraid to use too much.

• Step 4.
  Scrunch your hair a bit to enhance your curls and just allow your hair to dry on its own. Voila! A naturally beautiful look!

Humidity plays a far larger role in the appearance and behavior of hair than any other environmental factor. In fact, hair can absorb up to 40% of its weight from a humid environment!

Hair’s diameter swells nearly 25% when wet, yet its length hardly changes in water. This swelling causes the hair cuticles to expand and lift, creating frizz.

Finally, high humidity makes hair more likely to tangle, and much harder to comb. Hair is three times limper at high humidity, losing virtually all its stiffness when wet.

At a relative humidity of 30%, hair has a moisture content of approximately 6%. If the relative humidity increases to 70%, the moisture content in hair raises to nearly 14%. That’s a difference of 130%! In addition, when hair is damaged, and its porosity increased, its moisture content can approach 50%.

So if money is the root of all evil, then humidity is the root of all frizz. 1. Wear a hat – yes, it’s an obvious one but wearing a hat made of a tightly woven material is an easy and stylish way to protect yourself from the sun. If you can get one that can shield the face, neck, head, and ears, you’re golden.
2. Scarves – the material may not be as thick as a hat’s but it is better than nothing. Also, wrapping a scarf around your ponytail is a sassy, bohemian look that’s very chic right now. Or you could go for the Audrey Hepburn look because that will never go out of style!
3. Condition your hair – if you feel that your hair is much more dry and brittle this time of year, it’s best to consider using the No Frizz Leave-In treatment once a week, especially if you swim frequently.
