The discovery of our ground-breaking anti-frizz technology began more than four years ago with the realization that just about everything on the market uses the same dated technology to fight frizz.       September, 2004

      A conversation between Jon Flint, co-founder of Polaris Venture Partners, and stylists Mitch DeRosa and Ward Stegerhoek, gives birth to Jon's idea of creating a beauty brand combining advanced medical and materials technology with brilliant aesthetics.

      January, 2005

      Jon and Polaris partner, Amir Nashat, Ph.D., study the market for hair and skin products and confirm that there have been few true technology innovations in beauty.

      June, 2005

      MIT professor Dr. Bob Langer and his colleague Dr. Dan Anderson come aboard as Polaris funds the company and the science team is hired. Dr. Rox Anderson, Director of Wellman Center for Photomedicine at Mass General, and Peter Hutt, former FDA General Counsel, join the team.

      After one year of research, our team of scientists discover the PolyfluoroEster molecule, the first new anti-frizz technology in over 30 years.

      January, 2007

      Living Proof scientists create the first anti-frizz test products with promising results, getting them into the hands of "test clients" - everyday people who struggle with frizzy hair days.

      May, 2007

      The real Eureka moment came on a hot day when a client came to our offices with her own hair test. She'd used No Frizz on one side and a silicone product on the other. The No Frizz side was frizz-free and smooth. The other side? Well, you get the gist.

      Key beauty industry executives are recruited to deepen knowledge of the industry. Among them, former Kiehl's president Rob Robillard - with a singular, strategic vision drawn from 15 years in the consumer products industry.

      Every year, Allure magazine canvasses the beauty industry and the thousands of new products introduced for innovative formulas that exceed expectations and provide real solutions. No Frizz was awarded the prestigious 2008 Beauty Breakthrough Award from the editors of Allure.

      February, 2009

      Finally, No Frizz from Living Proof launches in Sephora and QVC nationwide.

    • 2009

      July, 2009

      After just six months of phenomenal sales Living Proof is named a top launch of the year at Sephora and awarded placement in the windows of every Sephora store nationwide.

      September, 2009

      Living Proof goes global with retail expansion into Sephora Canada and Mecca Cosmetica in Australia. Discussions begin for broader retail expansion throughout Europe.

      Living Proof scientists solve the next great beauty challenge with the creation of Full Thickening Cream with Poly Beta Amino Ester-1, our second breakthrough technology. We launched Full exclusively on QVC with lab packaging and completely sold out in less than 30 minutes.
